Chinese language, the most important language of China, is also the world’s most developed and rich language.

Chinese is the native language for the Han nationality, and at the same time it’s the official language of all nationalities in China.

Chinese has deep roots and a long history which counts more than 3 000 years. We can divide the history of Chinese into three periods: ancient, modern and contemporary. Contemporary Chinese was formed on the base of modern Chinese and came in use in the XXth century. At present nearly one fourth of the world population, namely around 1 200 0000, speaks Chinese. Chinese has also intensively and deeply influenced languages in its neighborhood, especially Japanese, Korean and Vietnamese.

Today, China is among six official working languages of the United Nations, and it’s gaining even more influence on the international stage.
